With no more bank holidays this year, a weekend away to look forward to is definitely a must. A few months ago I headed to Lisbon for the weekend and was blown away by it's beauty. My first visit to Portugal will certainly not be my last. Lisbon has without a doubt made it's way in to my top 5 places to visit, so get there soon, before this hidden gem gets found out!

While some areas show deterioration, it only serves to give Lisbon more charm.
When our legs could take no more wanderings we jumped on a bus tour and spent the rest of the afternoon whizzing around Lisbon on the sunny top deck.

Then we followed the stripy brick road home to Alfamla (to our amazing and more to the point cheap airbnb loft)for a quick balcony chill before checking out the nightspots in Bairro Alto.
